Turbocharger core assemblies purchased need to be fitted by a equipped turbocharger repairer and must have a calibration report in order for a warranty to be considered. Filtration products in no way guaranty against fuel related failures, fuel filters don't carry a time frame warranty, heavy contaminated fuel could cause filter element blockage and failure before a service interval. No warranty will be extended on filtration products as far as consequential damage to fuel injection systems that could lead to engine damage or failure. Warranty assessment will be done by SA Turbo where products are manufactured by SA Turbo where products are manufactured by external manufacturers the warranty assessment will be done by the manufacturer or their distribution agents or independent supplier of the product. Diesel Fuel injection
At no point should any high pressure lines or sensors and valves be removed or loosened from the high pressure pump/s, injectors or common rail or wiring looms unplugged while the engine is running or cracking over. Attempting to action any
of these activities will result in serious personal injury or damage to the fuel injection system or vehicle control systems. Strictly forbidden: Jump Starting Check battery load and charging rate all of which can damage injector solenoids which can be clearly seen during testing. The above mentioned will result in voltage spikes and will effect electronics of both pump and injectors
The responsibility rests with workshop to ensure proper installation and fitment procedures are followed outlined by the vehicle manufacturer. During pump and injector failure other parts such as common rail, filter including filter housing, diesel tank , primary fuel pumps and fuel lines Injector lines can be affected or have become defective in its operation which may result in improper operation or instant or dramatic failure of the fuel injection system even after repaired or replaced. Kindly note the common rail cannot be adequately cleaned even via ultrasonic cleaning were heavy particulate contamination was present, pressure sensor and regulation valves should not be removed at any time. Removal of these components from the rail will lead to improper sealing and will result in a loss of rail pressure including incorrect value feed back to the ECU.
Any loose parts like nozzles, valves, elements, kits seals or any loose part need to be fitted by a registered diesel fuel injection specialist for loose parts to retain a warranty. Any warranty on suspected faulty common rail injectors or relating fuel injection parts will undergo a full inspect and will be done independently from SA Turbo and the customer. The supplier, manufacturer or the manufacturer representative reserves the right to test and report on the condition of the part. There is a R3000 excl VAT charge for warranty testing and reporting, should the product suffered a failure due to manufacturers fault the report charges will fall away. If the failure is due to an externally induce failure the reporting fees need to be paid. manufacturer and supplier will audit the fitment of parts.
Ensure vehicle has a full service history, changing a fuel filter may not be enough. If services were skipped there may have been impurity build up in the fuel tank and lines due to improper filtration which would need to be addressed. Please note product warranty will become void if scheduled vehicle service and maintenance are skipped or delayed. Warranty will become void if any performance enhancements has been done including. Performance Exhaust Systems, Performance chipping, Catalytic or DPF removal, Air filter enhancements of a nonstandard nature, removal or by-pass of Exhaust Recycling Valve, or any non-standard upgrades not approved by the vehicle manufacturer. Any of these conversion deviations will result in reduced product service life, and result in poor performance which may lead to heavy fuel consumption, lack of power, ECU error codes and could lead to overall engine life reduction and improper communication between vehicle Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and fuel injection system. Please ensure that vehicle manufacturer approved fuel filters are used. Please ensure that vehicle manufacturer protocols are followed in regard to PDF`s, fuel tanks, filter housings, fuel lines in regard to whether they can be clean or if replacement is necessary. Failure to adhere to these basics will void warranty. Considerations for high mileage vehicles (150 000 kilometres and above) is very important. Take note that high mileage vehicles have a greater exposure to impurities in the fuel system that would need to be considered by the workshop, the responsibility rest on the workshop fitting the components to make the necessary checks to ensure that the fuel system is in working order and free from impurities and fuel lines have not be compromised in any way. Please note, all common rail injectors are tested in respect to its individual electronic control system and mechanical function and how these two systems interact with one another, the parameters they function in is predetermined not not subject to the to our own specifications. The test assessment are made based on these predetermined parameters and or communication of its condition is communicated on the individual product, we can only make recommendation on the vehicle system the individual product interacts with, the reasposibility rests with the mechanical workshop to further diagnose potential problems. Testing only provides clarity whether the individual product function with parameter or not.
Turbochargers
The responsibility rests with the workshop fitting the turbocharger to ensure proper fitment procedures are followed outlined by the vehicle manufacturer. Including taking into account grade of Engine Oil, Oil pressure and at which point it is to be taken, replacement of turbo oil supply and return lines, Catalytic Converters / PDF`s, Intercoolers, Air intake and supply ducting, Exhaust Recycling Valves, Vacuum Control units and systems. Ensure Oil Filter, Air Filter and Engine Oil has been approved by vehicle manufacturer. Failing to comply will void warranty, should a warranty issue arise this process will be audited by SA Turbo in respect to workmanship warranty and the product supplier in respect to product failure.
Warranty will be void if any performance enhancements of a nonstandard nature has been done to the vehicle including, Performance exhaust systems, Performance chipping, Catalytic Converter or PDF removal, air cleaner enhancements not approved by the vehicle manufacturer including the removal or by-pass of Exhaust Recycling Valves, all of which can cause start-up or premature turbocharger failure including Electronic Control Unit (ECU) errors or incorrect communication from ECU to turbocharger or result in poor engine performance and reduced service life of the turbocharger. Ensure vehicle has a full service history, changing engine oil and filters may not be enough as missed services may have caused carbon fouling of the engine oil that may have caused carbon collection in the sump, sump pick-up and oil supply lines and galleries, all of which can cause start-up or premature turbocharger failure even after turbocharger repair or replacement. Missed scheduled vehicle services and maintenance during turbocharger warranty period will void warranty. Electronic actuators are comprehensively tested and calibrated but will not be covered under the warranty unless replaced by genuine original components. Take note if electronic components are not replaced the entire unit will not carry a warranty.
Any loose parts like actuators, VNT's, core assemblies, gaskets, seal, bearings must be fitted by a registered turbo repair workshop and must have proof of a test report for the parts to retain a warranty.
Note, turbochargers are comprehensively tested and must be tested to predetermined parameters, our testing and assessment will be based on these predetermined values.
Engine condition considerations are very important for high mileage vehicles, (150 000 km or more will be considered a high mileage vehicle) Wear of / or improper operation of fuel injection systems may cause premature engine oil degradation or dilution which will negatively impact on the turbocharger service life. Furthermore the increase of sump compression, worn bearings, engine gears and oil pump as engine life deteriorates will impact on the service life of the turbocharger and can cause premature or dramatic failure of the turbocharger even after repair or replacement.
Please note, engine failure, engine overheating, cylinder head failure, cylinder head gasket failure, oil pump failure, water or fuel dilution in the engine oil will cause damage to the turbocharger even if repaired or replaced. Very important machining swarf left behind after engine overhaul is a turbo killer and is easily spotted during product assessment.
